It has easily been the most anticipated cover in the world of New Adult literature. And it's finally here. With only four months until its scheduled release date (February 24th, 2015), S.C. Stephens's Thoughtful finally has a cover to match the synopsis and the title.

Thoughtful is an eagerly-anticipated and much-begged-for retelling of the events of Thoughtless, through the eyes of the male love interest (now a male protagonist), Kellan Kyle. Kellan, of course, is one of NA's most beloved book boyfriends, a staple on every book boyfriend list and a frequently swooned-over character not easy to top. We're biased, of course, but we never did quite get over our Kellan-crush.

Following the announcement of the Thoughtful release date, as well as acompanion novel to the series and another unnamed, unrelated novel, S.C. Stephens has been keeping us in the dark as far as news about Thoughtful go. But no more!

How ridiculously, distractingly hot is this cover that Forever Romance has put together? Featuring Kellan's equally ridiculously, distractingly hot body perched on the hood of his beloved Chevelle Malibu, the cover does justice to everything we can expect to find beyond it. If Thoughtless was among the crown jewels of New Adult, we can hardly imagine what a joy (and agony!) it will be to get to revisit the events therein from Kellan's point of view.

Every story has two sides, and in this new book, the epic love story between Kiera and Kellan is shown through his eyes.

All Kellan Kyle needs is his guitar, and some clean sheets of paper. Growing up in a house that was far from a home, he learned a hard lesson:You're worthless. Now his life is comfortably filled with passionate music, loyal band mates, and fast women...until he meets her.

Kiera makes him ache for more. Makes him feel for the first time that he'sworth more. But there's one problem - she's his best friend's girl.

Just when Kellan thought his emotional defenses were rock solid, Kiera's indecisive heart wreaks havoc on his soul, changing him forever. Losing Kiera is not an option.

She blinked, and I could see the exhaustion in the bags under her eyes. I patted my lap again and gave her a warm, non-threatening smile. I just want to hold you. Like she could hear me, she nodded, then adjusted herself so she could rest her head on my lap.
She turned into me, like she didn’t care about the movie anymore, and I put my arm over her body, cocooning her in my warmth. I ran my fingers through her hair, soothing her…soothing me. She was asleep in minutes, her breath light through her parted lips. I didn’t watch the movie either, just stared at her face, memorizing the lines, curves and freckles. She was perfect. Simple, yet extraordinary.
Careful to not wake her up, I brought my knuckle to her cheek and ran it down her skin. It was like touching silk. She twitched, but didn’t move away. A smile spread on my lips as peace spread through my body. Denny was an idiot for leaving her…but I was extremely happy he had.

When the coffee was done, I prepared our cups, and set Kiera’s down in front of her. I leaned back in my chair, perfectly content as I drank mine. Kiera hunched over her mug like she was freezing and it was the only source of warmth in the room. I knew her reaction wasn’t from the cold though, and knowing that made my smile even wider. Jealousy is a bitch, isn’t it, Kiera?”

She handed me the necklace, and my fingers were shaking as I took it. The guitar was perfectly crafted, delicate, but sturdy, and there was a large circle diamond in the center that sparkled in the lights. It was me, and it was Kiera… the perfect embodiment of what we were, or rather, what we’d never be. I couldn’t think of anything better to give her, to help her remember me, and what we’d gone through. “I’ll take it,” I whispered, not even looking at the price tag.
“Excellent,” the woman beamed. “I’ll go ring you up.”
While she walked away, Evan stepped up to me. “Kellan… you can’t expect her to wear that. It’s too obvious.”
I shook my head as I stared at the glow emanating from the diamond. “I don’t expect her to. I don’t expect anything. But this is what I want to give her.” My eyes were watering when I looked over at him. “This is how I want to say goodbye.”

I turned to face her, and I knew… this would be the last time we talked. This was it. This was goodbye.

In addition to writing, Stephens enjoys spending lazy afternoons in the sun reading fabulous novels, loading up her iPod with writer’s block reducing music, heading out to the movies, and spending quality time with her friends and family. We'll put it to you this way: if you're half as excited as us, you're squealing for joy right now. With the cover, the concrete release date and the synopsis officially released (not to mention the torturous-yet-delightful snippets!), Kellan Kyle feels closer than he has in months, temporally speaking. And if there is one character we can't ever get enough of, it's Kellan Kyle. This unique insight into Kellan's mind is a privilege we hardly dared dream of a year or so ago. Now it's not only a reality, it's an almost tangible one at that. And we couldn't be more fangirly about it. ;)

Feeling fangirly as well? Leave us a comment below (we promise to reply, squeal and probably use lots of exclamation points), or find us on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. We're just as excitable on all social media as we are on our blog. Feel free to hit us up. ;)
